Pioneer Nuts & Bolts Pvt. Ltd. — TUFF Brand

Stud / Threaded Rod

Manufacturer & Exporter · Ludhiana, Punjab · Since 1996

Stud Bolts / Threaded Rods are headless fasteners with threads at both ends — one end (the plant end) is screwed into a tapped hole in the component, and the other end (the nut end) accepts a nut to complete the joint. They are the standard fastening method for flanged pipe joints, pressure vessel covers, cylinder heads, and all applications where component removal must not require bolt withdrawal through the mating part. Pioneer manufactures stud bolts to BS 4882, and ASTM A193 in grades 8.8 through 12.9 and in alloy grades B7, B8, B8M and Gr. 660 Inconel for high-temperature and high-pressure service. Pioneer Manufactures Studs as per national and international standards providing full assurance and testing infra with our In house ISO/IEC 17025:2017 lab.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about TUFF Stud / Threaded Rod

What is ASTM A193 and which grades does it cover? +
ASTM A193 is the American standard for alloy steel and stainless steel bolting materials for high-temperature and high-pressure service. The most widely used grades are: Gr. B7 (Cr-Mo alloy steel, hardened & tempered, yield 105 ksi min, max service ~500°C), Gr. B8 (SS 304, yield 30 ksi min), and Gr. B8M (SS 316). These are specified in ASME pressure vessel and piping codes worldwide.
What is BS 4882 and when is it specified? +
BS 4882 is the British standard for bolting for flanges and pressure-containing purposes — covering stud bolts for use with flanged joints in pressure piping and pressure vessel applications per British / European engineering practice. It specifies dimensions, materials, and mechanical requirements for stud bolts in BS/EN piping systems.
What is the NACE MR0175 requirement for stud bolts in sour service? +
NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 limits the maximum hardness of carbon and low-alloy steel fasteners used in hydrogen sulphide (H2S) environments to Rockwell C 22 maximum. ASTM A193 Gr. B7M (a restricted hardness variant of B7) and matching Gr. 2HM nuts are specified for sour service piping and equipment to prevent sulphide stress cracking.
Are stud bolts available in Inconel Grade 660 for high-temperature applications? +
Yes. Stud bolts in Gr. 660 Inconel (iron-base superalloy) conforming to ASTM A453 / ASTM A638 are manufactured for bolting assemblies at elevated temperatures up to approximately 650°C — used in steam turbine casings, petrochemical high-temperature reactors, and advanced power plant flanged joints.
